If you are a fan of action-packed, humorous anime series with supernatural and historical fiction elements, then Demon Slayer is a must-watch! The characters' journeys and the story itself are filled with valuable life lessons, encouraging and inspiring the viewer.

I personally give priority to character development and emotional depth in anime series. “Demon Slayer” offers deep, meaningful, and relatable character development and does not shy away from exploring heavy emotional themes, like loss, family bonds, and the moral complexities of revenge and mercy. So if you also appreciate watching characters grow, face their fears, and overcome personal challenges, you will enjoy connecting with Tanjiro, and his companions on their journey.

Although I have come across people who complain about Tanjiro's well-rounded personality, I believe that he is an excellent main character. His lack of flaws allows him to serve as the core of all the colourful personalities we encounter throughout his journey, whether they be demons or humans.

Demon Slayer holds a place in my top five anime series.

So, what is the big deal with Demon Slayer?

The Japanese anime series, “Demon Slayer” (Kimetsu no Yaiba), is based on the manga by Koyoharu Gotogue. The story takes place in Japan's Taisho era (1912-1926) and revolves around Tanjirou Kamado, the eldest of six children. Tanjiro is a kind-hearted teenage boy who lives with his family in the mountains and makes a living by selling charcoal. His peaceful life is shattered when his family is attacked and killed by a demon. Only his sister, Nezuko, survives the attack, but is transformed into a demon.

Determined to avenge his family and find a cure for his little sister, Tanjiro embarks on a journey to join the Demon Slayer Corps, a secretive society that has been waging war against demons for centuries.

The Demon Slayers are humans who possess the ability to fight demons, using special swords and fighting techniques. Tanjiro undergoes rigorous training and alongside his sister and other Demon Slayers he faces many dangers and adventures on the quest for a cure.

"Demon Salyer" is renowned for its intense and beautifully animated (and very long) fight scenes, deep emotional impact, and well-developed characters. The bond between Tanjiro and Nezuko is a central theme, showcasing the power of love and determination against the backdrop of darkness and despair.
